Last month we launched a new support service to help people affected by brain injuries across South West London receive better care and support throughout their recovery. We know from experience that as people transfer between wards in the hospital, between hospitals and into their home that continuity of care can be a problem.
The new service will help people regain their independence in their community by providing support, advice and information to people when they leave hospital. The service will be provided by HSWL’s new Services Manager Lauren Macready.
Lauren previously worked at St George’s Hospital in Tooting and at The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability in Putney and joined HSWL in 2012 to run the monthly group meetings and socials. To find out more about the service contact Lauren Macready on 07722 861642 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Headway South West London put together an information sheet on local services for the support group meeting in August 2012.
The document provides information about local services in Merton, Croydon, Wimbledon, Kingston and Richmond and is now available to download here.
Please note, it is only a basic list and provides mainly website addresses and contact telephone numbers and addresses to get further information.
