Headway Southwest London is pleased to offer a 3-hour workshop titled

“Learning About and Living with Brain Injury”

 

This workshop is offered to people who have experienced a brain injury, their families or their carers. We are particularly interested in offering this workshop to those who have experienced a brain injury within the last 5 years

 

Date: June 15th 2024, 10.00am to 1.00pm.

 

Venue: Drake House, 44, St George’s Road, Wimbledon, SW19 4ED

(about 10 minutes walk from Wimbledon station)

 

Session Leaders :

The session will be led by two experienced Clinical Neuropsychologists.

Dr Noelle Blake and Dr Heather Liddiard have worked with people with acquired brain injuries for over 20 years in the Southwest London region. They have experience of working in inpatient rehabilitation settings, in community neurorehabilitation teams and seeing individuals on a private basis.

 

 

The session will provide:

  • Information about how the brain works and the changes caused by brain injury
  • Information about what rehabilitation aims to provide.
  • Information about local rehabilitation and therapy services.
  • Discussion on what happens after discharge from services.
  • Discussion of how brain injury affects personal functioning and family relationships.
  • Information on how to implement positive changes after a brain injury.
  • An opportunity to ask questions and share experiences.
