Wimbledon Village Fair – real success

Wimbledon Village Fair on Saturday 18th June.  This year we ran a ‘Guess the Sweets in a Jar’ game and it was a real success, with lots of interest and lots of children coming along to play.  Members Chris and Valerie attended and helped with handing out leaflets and encouraging people to come to the stall.  Despite the torrential rain during a lot of the day, we managed to raise over £120 for HSWL and hopefully raised awareness of what HSWL can offer.

‘Speed Sharing and Other Stories’: April Support Group Meeting

The ‘speed sharing’ event at our support group meeting on 12 April proved to be an interesting and thought-provoking evening.  Everyone had opportunity to share different aspects not only about living with brain injury, but also about life, the universe and everything!  The room buzzed with discussions and hopefully these discussions have formed the basis for many more conversations in the group in the future.

What’s cooking in May 2011?

We’ve been very fortunate to secure a chef to join us at our Support Group Meeting on Tuesday 10 May 2011.  We’re keeping to the healthy living theme started in February, and Dave, the chef, will be inspiring us to try out tasty and healthy recipes.  He’ll be doing a cooking class with everyone and will be fielding all our cookery and food questions.  See you there, at 7.30pm.

Please bring a chopping board.

On the topic, let us know if you are interested in putting together a cookery folder of members’ favourite recipes.  Email us on supportgrouphswl@gmail.com.
