Support Group – new venue

Support Group meetings take place on the second Tuesday of each month from 7.30pm to 9.00pm.

Crafty support group meeting!
Getting into the Christmas spirit, we rolled up our sleeves and got crafty. Many thanks to Ryan and Karin who taught the group some rather impressive decoration and card-making skills, surprising and converting even the most glitter-averse amongst us!
It was great to see so many new faces at the meeting and we hope to see you again throughout 2012.

Physio Top Tips
TOP TIPS from Carol the Physio from the September 2011 meeting
- Set yourself small, achievable goals- write them down!
- Keep an exercise diary- it helps you stay motivated and keeps you on track.
- Joining classes at a gym is great, but make sure that they are at the right level- e.g. if starting Pilates, check if you can have 1:1 or small group sessions initially to learn the basics properly.
- Problems walking and running luckily don’t mean you can’t get any exercise! Try sitting down and lifting cans of baked beans- to the side, up and down. Increase the weight gradually. You’ll find your heart pumping after a doing this few a few minutes.
- Try marching on the spot- while sitting in your chair
- Every hour take 4 deep breaths to expand your lungs.

Harris Cartier Social Group meeting – 22 November
The nights are drawing in, so it’s time to go to the cinema! The date for your diary is TUESDAY 22 NOVEMBER – why not join us at the Wimbledon Odeon for the evening – 39 The Broadway, The Piazza, Wimbledon, SW19 1QB. The tickets are on us, and the popcorn is on you.
The tricky thing is that we will not have the cinema listing until the week before… so we don’t know yet what we will be watching! Never fear though, as there will be a choice on offer, and we’ll be in touch as soon as we know what’s showing.
